MH Interiors is a women-owned firm focusing on different aspects of design. The firm is located in Boulder, Colorado which provides rich culture and creativity. The firm is created to be an interior design firm where employees, guests, and residents can enjoy the amenities of the space. Our design hones in on these strengths to create a space that is deep in the Dutch origins of the owner and steals the heart of Boulder, Colorado.

Concept

The word Sfeervol comes from the Dutch language. It describes a space with a pleasant and inviting ambiance that is often sophisticated and moody. MH Interiors is meant to replicate that through the concept. Exteriors of the building emulate sophisticated Dutch homes with decorative stone face fronts and pitched roofs. The concept of Sfeervol can also be seen through the interior with comforting textures and the use of furnishings that emulate relaxation. Use of paint colors also bring warmth to the space and welcome guests and employees to the firm each day. MH Interiors relates back to Dutch origins to further deepen the roots of the firm and its original culture.

Inspiration

Process Work + Research

Boulder, Colorado is home to various different activities such as the mountains for climbing, skiing, hiking, and more. Boulder provides socialization, culinary experiences, and a view into street life. This city also contains an impressive variety of cultural performances and events but is also known as one of the nation's healthiest places to live.

Stair Section Cut

This stair section cut displays the cut of the firm along with the mountainous background. Rooms visible include the reception and lobby area and the conference room of the first floor. Second floor contains the design and production area along with the private office. The third-floor images the exposed patio that employees and residents can utilize to receive fresh air and view the mountains.
