Based off of the sculpture “The Fusion” located south of Gary, Indiana’s steel mills, it represents the multitude of ethnic groups that came together to build Gary. This concept is intended to create an inviting space that blends organic and modern lines. Dark and moody colors along with natural lighting provide an attachment to the culture of Gary and give users a grasp of history. It is intended to be dynamic with touches of movement, texture, and color that complement each other simultaneously. Warm and cool toned colors are also added to induce curiosity and comfort while rustic and modern touches provide sophistication. These clients will have room to learn, grow, and build intimacy with others but also build their own forms of privacy through the fusion of community.
